How to read this project
Not your regular “lore analysis page."
Most discussions about fictional worlds revolve around the concepts that centralize the characters themselves. Here, we will discuss dimensions that go beyond the cultural identities of characters in fictional worlds, such as the world itself and concepts prevalent in literature and cultural studies. Questions such as “What constitutes ‘Character A’?” or “How do conflicts influence the decisions of Character B?” will be answered in this overarching project. Rather than evaluating individual stories as in-depth lore analysis, Reading Worlds studies these underlying assumptions through the literary lens and interpretative studies.
You can start anywhere.
While this project will be released sequentially (on Instagram every Monday and here on this website every Friday), you can eventually read the articles (or “chapters”) individually. After a while, there will be a library of texts that you can read and enjoy from whichever perspective you want to interpret them. However, spoiler alert, the first series will focus solely on the universe of League of Legends, aptly titled Reading Runeterra.
How to read it? Up to you!
Whether you enjoy a more visual style or a textual one that you can read while on the go, I got you covered. On Instagram, you essentially receive the bite-sized and more condensed version of the main text found on the website.
So yeah, have fun reading Reading Worlds, starting with Reading Runeterra!
